I like that connection with Gnosticism and all these bad social ideas using ontological equality to justify their systems. Yet the solution of CRT has no problem “cursing the children for the sins of their fathers” of those they feel are “privileged.” That’s seems to stem from Gnosticism since we are all just fragments of the Pleroma. How one treats the various pieces doesn’t matter as long as everything “balances out”… It helps to understand why the Marxists in the Gulags could say “you cant make eggs without breaking eggshells.” Well, bravo. Good stuff to be aware of as we build and interact with the world as Christians.
"The Question isn't do I have to believe in the Virgin birth in order to be saved? Rather does Jesus need to be born of a virgin in order for me to be saved? Which of course the answer is yes!"
Okay So now that I have had time to think about the Podcast, here's some thoughts that rattled in my brain while working.
Christ had to become Fully man, in order that he might:
1. Sweat, bleed and toil to produce good fruit in the midst of Thorns (Adam's portion of the Gospel) and Now is Removing those Thorns
2. Endure the Pangs and sufferings that produce new life, bringing forth Redemption for his brothers (Eve's portion of the Gospel)
And he now rules over his bride.
3. Be devoured by the Devil as the serpent devours dust. (The serpent's portion of the Gospel)
Defeating the Ouroboros on the third day and now crushes the serpents under his bruised foot.
4. As the head goes, so does the body.
5. As Christ's body we are to imitate Christ bodily and spiritually, by bearing Fruit and weeding out the curse; Suffering well in Child bearing/rearing and rule over our wives well; charge the jaws of The great Serpent death, every day and Stomp out the lesser ones.
Side note:
Turretin makes a great point of Original Sin. He says that Original Sin is one of both Immunity (Corruption of Nature) and Impunity (Legal Status before God) saying that Pelagius denied that Adam's seed suffering either effects. Semi pelagians are one that uphold one and deny the other (eg. Modern Papists and E.O. uphold O.S. on Immunity but deny O.S. on Impunity) O.S. for Original Sin.
Christ was sent to Restore our Impunity (PSA) The Holy Spirit is sent to Restore our Immunity
My pastor has talked me me with reading him straight through without jumping around. Almost done with the First book, three years later 😲 he's dense, plus he makes reference to folks that cause me to read their works to know what he's talking about.
Hey Jason really liked this first one. Looking forward to the next one. One thing that has been on my mind after listening to you with Knox, is that I have general feeling that Christians have a high regard for general revelation. Everything revolves around special revelation. I think you mentioned that when you bring these two together that is where poetry exists. Anyway is this lack of interest in general revelation a byproduct of this gnostic tendency we have? Thanks
I think many Christians don’t think of nature as revelation at all. They have lost that poetic eye that can see creation as revelation. They are often secularists when it comes to cosmology. 🤷

Man, you'd love Science, Politics, and Gnosticism by Eric Voeglin. It's a little book, but very profound!
Excellent! I need to learn more about how gnosticism seeps in everywhere. I am seeing it more and more often, but I still need better sight…
🙌
Keep up the good work. 👍
Thanks!

Nice turretin reference. I haven’t read him in a long time. I should revisit!

I loved him when I read him, it's just been two decades. I should revisit!
It'll probably take me two decades to read him 😂😭 yes he's well worth the revisit
